John LaClair and his family have been business owners in the Capital District area for over 75 years. John’s father was the town Judge of Glenville, NY. His brother Rick owns LeClair’s Service Station in Scotia, NY. In 1987, John and his wife, Noel, purchased Scotia Lanes Bowling Alley and ran a successful business for years providing family fun and great food to the community for over 10 years. John decided to take a position working at the General Electric Company in 2000 where he since has retired.
After continuously watching “Bar Rescue” , John and Noel thought it would be a great idea to open a hometown pub restaurant where the local community and their families could go for a cold drink, great food, and entertainment. A 50-year old local landmark pub, Jimmy Dee’s had gone up for sale which had been closed for several years which intrigued John LeClair. Thinking of the famous words from Jon Taffer (Bar Rescue), "RESCUE THAT BAR", John and Noel became the proud owners of the Hometown Pub & Grub. They just celebrated their first successful year in operation thanks to the support of the local community and their families.
